Your Himachal Tour starts as you arrive in Chandigarh. Our tour representative will greet you at the Chandigarh Airport/ Chandigarh Railway Station and proceed by a private chauffeur-driven car to Shimla, which is the first destination of this tour. This Chandigarh to Shimla drive will be around 4-5 hours, depending on the road traffic and weather conditions. You will arrive in Shimla and do check-in formalities at the pre-booked hotel/ resort and then rest for some time. You can now explore the famous tourist attractions in Shimla as per the remaining time and/ or spend the rest of the day at leisure at the hotel. You can visit Mall Road and have a light walk and explore the shops, cafes, restaurants and enjoy the scenic beauty of Shimla. Else you can just relax in your hotel and have dinner and rest for the night.
You will start early morning and check-out from Shimla. Now you will proceed to Sarahan by road. The road journey will pass through some of the very scenic Himachali landscapes. You can enjoy the views of Kufri, Matiana, Hattu Peak, and Tanni Jubbar Lake. On the way, you will pass through small hill stations like Theog, Narkanda, and Kufri and view the beauty of the Himalayan mountains and valleys. After you arrive in Sarahan you can check-in and stay at the resort/ hotel for the night.
In the morning you will awake to a beautiful morning and sunshine. After breakfast, you can check-out from Sarahan and resume your journey by land and visit the famous places in Sarahan such as Bhima Kali Temple, Sarahan Palace, and Sarahan Zoo. After you arrive in Sangla, which is a small town, which is located at the foot of the Kinnaur Kailash mountain. You can do the hotel check-in process and then explore the local bazaar or visit the Kamru Fort, which has idols of many gods and goddesses and weapons. Later you will arrive at your hotel in Sangla and rest for the night.
Prepare to do an excursion to Chitkul on this day after breakfast. Chitkul is a small village with incredible natural beauty. Chitkul is the last village before the Tibetan border where you can visit without any permit. The road route from Sangla to Chitkul is full of scenic landscapes, waterfalls, mountains, valleys, and scenic viewpoints. Chitkul is located on the Baspa river and this little village is famous as it has the cleanest quality air in all of India. You can view the scenic river flowing near the route and even find some time to sit by the banks and enjoy the surrounding views. Here you can visit the local temple and see the various camps and tents that show the famous river valley of Chitkul. Later you will arrive back at Sangla and then rest here for the night.
In the morning after check-out from Sangla, you will visit the famous Reckong Peo Monastery near Kalpa. This monastery is famous for its magnificent Buddha statue, which is 60 feet high statue. This monastery is also called Brelengi Gompa Monastery. Later you will check-in at your resort/ villa in Kalpa and rest for some time. The most famous mountain peak here is the Kinnaur Kailash, which is a huge Hindu pilgrimage site. Kinnaur Kailash is a major trekking destination in Himachal Pradesh and one of the Panch Kailash mountain peaks in India. You can view this mountain from a distance from any place in Kalpa. You can explore the surrounding area in Kalpa and do some light walk in the evening. Later you will return to your villa/ resort/ hotel in Kalpa and spend the night here.
This morning you will proceed to check-out from Kalpa and visit Nako, which is a village very close to the border with Tibet. You will view the most beautiful scenery from your car. Many viewpoints, waterfalls, and river streams run parallel to the route. The scenery now changes from alpine forests and rivers to that of a cold desert environment from Nako onwards. The terrain starts becoming more rugged and rocky. You will pass through river bridges, Tibetan monasteries, and Hindu temples along the way. When you reach Nako, you will do check-in and then visit the most famous tourist attraction in Nako, which is Nako Lake. You can visit an apple orchard, walk on the village streets, and view small shops and hotels. Nako is also the last place before Spiti Valley begins. You will now return to your hotel/ villa/ homestay in Nako and spend the night here.
This morning you will check-out from Nako and proceed to visit Tabo. This is a small town in the Lahaul and Spiti Valley. On your arrival in Tabo, you can have a stroll in the village streets and experience the culture of the remote region of Lahaul and Spiti. You can visit the Tabo Monastery, which is regarded as a more than 1000-year-old Tibetan monastery. You can trek on foot and visit Tabo Caves, which are natural caves where Buddhist monks meditated here for many centuries. Later you will stay for the night in the hotel in Tabo.
You have now entered Lahaul and Spiti and this is where the river Spiti flows through the barren landscapes. In the morning you will now check-out from Tabo and proceed to Kaza. On the way, you can make short halts to admire the views of Dhankhar Lake and also visit Dhankar Monastery. You can make a halt at Needle Rock Viewpoint and view the eerie landscapes of sharp needle-like rocks and canyon-like landscapes. Pin Valley National Park is the next place you will visit. This national park is a cold desert environment and there are certain rare animals you can spot here such as the snow leopard, Siberian Ibex, partridges, woodcock, and others. You can visit the Kungri Monastery, which is a Tibetan monastery and is one of the oldest monasteries in Spiti Valley. You will now proceed to Kaza and check-in at the hotel on arrival and rest here for the night.
You will visit various places near Kaza on this day. You will leave after breakfast and proceed to visit Key Monastery. This monastery ranks as the largest Buddhist monastery in Spiti Valley and offers magnificent views of the Spiti River flowing nearby. Key Monastery offers a home and accommodation to the llamas who study Tibetan Buddhism here. There are around 100 Buddhist monks who study here and receive training in various principles and rituals of Tibetan Buddhism. Later you will visit the highest motorable road in the world, which is Komic. You can take a selfie with the background of the signboard which reads, βHighest Village in the World connected with Motorable Roadβ. Komic is at an altitude of around 4587 meters. You can stop here for a moment and admire the barren desert environs and the snow-capped mountains in the far distance. Later you can explore the fossil park at Langza and view the fossils of sea and marine creatures that date back more than 500 million years. The fossils are preserved magnificently in the cold desert environment of Spiti Valley. Later you will proceed to Kaza and spend the night at the hotel.
You will begin this day with check-out from Kaza and proceed to visit Chandratal Lake. On the way you will drive on Kunzum La Pass, which is one of the high-altitude mountain passes with incredible natural landscapes and scenic beauty. Chandratal Lake is also called Lake of the Moon, as the shape of the lake is like the crescent shape of the moon. The lake is infinitely beautiful and a wonder of natural beauty. There are many camps around the lake where you will stay for the night. You will have to walk for around two to three hours before reaching the lake. If you are lucky you can spot wildflowers growing on the banks of the lake and some creatures like ducks, ibex, red fox, and others. Chandratal Lake is one of the finest Ramsar wetland sites in India. Later you will return to your camp near Chandratal Lake and rest here for the night.
You will begin after breakfast and proceed to check-out from Chandratal and head to Manali. You will pass through one of the most famous mountains passes in Himachal, which is Rohtang La Pass. As you drive on this pass you will view the incredible natural beauty of Himachal Pradesh from your car window. Rohtang Pass is one of the very famous tourist attractions in Manali. From Rohtang Pass, the landscape begins to become greener. You have now left Spiti Valley behind you and entered the lush greenery of Manali. On arrival in Manali, you can check-in at the hotel and rest here for the night.
You will enjoy a full day of Manali sightseeing. We will take you by car to visit the most famous tourist attractions in Manali. You will visit Hidimba Temple, Vashisht Kund, Manu Temple, Himalayan Nyingmapa Buddhist Temple, and Van Vihar. You can explore the old town of Manali and the market here later on in the day, and this is a very good place for buying Tibetan handicraft items, shawls, woolen garments, toys, etc. Later you will return to your hotel in Manali and rest here after a long day of sightseeing.
You have now come to the end of this exciting Himachal Tour and you will check-out from your hotel in Manali after having a delicious breakfast. You will now proceed on the return journey to Chandigarh via Kullu, Mandi, and Bilaspur. You will reach Chandigarh in the afternoon after a drive of around 5-6 hours of driving from Manali. We will now drop you at Chandigarh Railway Station/ Chandigarh Airport and you can resume your return journey by train or flight.
