Hawa Mahal
Perhaps no other monument is as famous and as iconic as the Hawa Mahal in Jaipur. This magnificent palace is more famous for its outer façade which resembles a crown from a distance. The palace was built in such an ingenious way that it allowed the air to pass through the lattice windows and cool the interiors of the palace even in hot scorching summer months. There are almost 950 small windows on the outer structure of this palace. Behind it is the main palace with royal chambers, gardens, and corridors. Hawa Mahal looks even more gorgeous at night when colored floodlights illuminate it.

Amer Fort
Amer Fort is one of the three magnificent forts in Jaipur. This fort is also known as Amber Palace. The palace is situated in a hilly terrain and the king kept an eye on the enemy movements from its hilltop position. Amber Palace is a huge fort with incredible architecture, towers, defenses, and bastions. It has several temples, courtyards, palaces, and gardens inside its structure. Perhaps Amber Palace is very famous as it was featured in the famous song from Mughal-e-Azam, ‘Jab pyaar kiya to darna kya’. The outer structure of Amer Fort is enough to capture the imagination of the onlookers with its tremendous construction and architecture.

Jaigarh Fort
Jaigarh Fort is almost in the same area as Amber Fort. This fort is at a higher elevation than Amber Fort and was used to keep an eye on the Amer Fort. The fort is just as powerful as Amber Fort and was built in 1726 by Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur. Jaigarh Fort is a massive fort and has innumerable corridors, gardens, palaces, arched gateways, watch towers and temples. It had its water supply system and was used as a cannon foundry. The most impressive thing about Jaigarh Fort is the Jaivana Cannon, which was the world’s largest cannon on wheels at one point in time.

Jal Mahal
One of the most unique monuments in Jaipur is the Jal Mahal. This Jal Mahal Palace is located in the calm waters of Man Sagar Lake. You can view the Jal Mahal only from a distance and cannot go near it. You can view its top floor and its other four floors are submerged underwater. Jal Mahal is illuminated at night and creates a beautiful display for tourists. But in the daytime, tourists can view many birds in the lake. Man Sagar Lake is closed for boating and you cannot go near or inside Jal Mahal. But the sheer sight of this beautiful palace is enough to amaze you.

City Palace
One of the most prominent tourist attractions in Jaipur is the City Palace. This palace is an enormous structure with innumerable palaces, vast courtyards, temples, gateways, and gardens. It has a blend of Mughal and Rajput architecture. The buildings and monuments inside have the most incredible architecture and carvings. Most famous among these are the palaces called Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, and Maharani Palace. The museum inside has various royal-era artifacts, costumes, weapons, and other relics. The City Palace is in the old part of Jaipur, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Jantar Mantar
The place called Jantar Mantar in Jaipur is full of the most amazing instruments that were developed to measure the movement of the celestial bodies. Jantar Mantar is an astronomical observatory that was developed by Sawai Jai Singh II. 19 instruments have such names as Samrat Yantra, Dakshina Yantra, Chakra Yantra, etc. These instruments showcase the advanced knowledge of scientists of that era.

Albert Hall Museum
One of the best museums in Jaipur is the Albert Hall Museum. The building has the most incredible architecture and is heavily influenced by the Victorian architectural style. Albert Hall Museum is a very old museum and ranks among the very best of museums in Jaipur. There are many galleries inside where you can view exhibits such as coins, carpets, musical instruments, and jewelry. In the nighttime, Albert Hall Museum is brilliantly illuminated by floodlights and gives a beautiful display.
