This tour is a unique bird-watching tour where you will spot a rare bird called the Lesser Florican. This is among the smallest bustards and is found in the grasslands and fields around Sonkhaliya. This place is a village near Ajmer and if the monsoons are good you might spot the Lesser Florican here along with other birds and small mammals like fox, and jackal. But the Lesser Florican is the main target bird you can try to spot. You will photograph other birds here. This tour is short but the photographs you will get of the Lesser Florican and other birds are priceless.

1Day Arrival in Delhi and drive to Sonkhaliya

As you arrive in Delhi on the first day of this tour we will drive onwards to Bandanwara. You will check into the hotel in Bandanwara and some rest. Bandanwara is a small village near Ajmer Rajasthan. You can go for an evening bird-watching session if you have time. Later you will have dinner and overnight rest and stay.

2Day Bird watching in Sonkhaliya

Today you will have the whole day for bird watching in Sonkhaliya. This village is also close to Bandanwara and near Ajmer. The farmlands and cotton fields here are perfect for spotting the Lesser Florican. This bird is a type of bustard and is the smallest bustard. The tall grasslands around Sonkhaliya are where you can spot this elusive bird. It is a shy bird and spotting it among the tall grassy fields is a matter of patience and some luck. But while you are on the lookout for the Lesser Florican, you can also photograph some other birds commonly found here like Rock Bush Quail, Rain Quail, Painted Francolin, and Lesser Florican. The area around Sonkhaliya is also known to be the breeding ground of the King Vulture and Cinereous Vulture. Sonkhaliya is also known to offer good sightings of Macqueen’s Bustard or Houbara. Some rare birds you can spot here are Black-headed Ibis, Oriental White Ibis, Painted Stork, and Stoliczka’s Bushchat. After this day of bird watching in Sonkhaliya, you will return to Bandanwara and stay here in the hotel for the night.

3Day Sonkhaliya to Delhi

We will go for an early morning bird-watching session in Sonkhaliya. Later you will check-out from Bandanwara and we will drive to Delhi. We will drop you at Delhi Airport/ Delhi Railway Station. You can board the scheduled flight/ train to your hometown.

Confirmation Policy

Upon booking, the traveller will receive a confirmation voucher via email, within 24 hours.
In the special cases of slots not being available, feasible alternatives will be provided to the customer, in regards to the customer’s preference. In such cases, a new voucher would be sent via email, consisting of the new travel details.

Cancellation Policy

Any cancellation made before 20 days prior to the date of departure, would levy a 30% of total tour cost as cancellation charges.
Due to any restrictions such as sudden government policies or regulations, health hazards, medical emergencies, or unprecedented weather conditions, activities and tours may be nonoperational and be cancelled. In cases such as these, operators will attempt to cater to the traveller an alternate, which is feasible in nature. However, any refund would not be catered.
