Tara Devi Temple
Tara Devi Temple is one of the most important tourist spots in Shimla. This temple was built in 1766 and is more than 250 years old temple. The main deity of this temple is one of the divine goddesses of Hindus, Tara Devi. The temple offers very scenic views of the mountains and valleys in Shimla. The beautiful Himachali architecture of this temple is a captivating sight. The idol of the deity in this temple is made of 8 different metals called Ashtadhatu. Navratri and Ashtami are the various religious festivals that are celebrated here in this temple. People come from nearby areas to visit the temple and pray to the goddess to grant their wishes.

Kali Bari Temple
Kali Bari Temple is a temple of Goddess Kali and is one of the very famous ancient temples in Shimla. Kali Bari Temple was built in 1845 and has a similar structure to the Dakshineswar Kali Temple in Kolkata. The temple is incredibly scenic and its peaceful surroundings are best for some moments of relaxation and solitude. Diwali and Durga Pooja are celebrated with great religious fervor in this temple. You can also have snacks and tea at the canteen nearby.

Jakhoo Hill
Another famous temple that you can visit on this one-day sightseeing tour of Shimla is Jakhoo Temple. The temple is situated on a hill which is named as Jakhoo Hill. It offers scenic views of Shimla. You will have to do some trekking and walking to reach the temple. You can go by cable car to reach the temple more quickly. Lord Hanuman, who is a mytholog1ical character from the Ramayana, is the principal god to whom this Jakhoo Temple is dedicated. An enormous and tall idol of Lord Hanuman is the most famous attraction to tourists visiting Jakhoo Temple. The main attraction of the temple is the tall statue of Lord Hanuman, which is 108 feet tall. There are several paintings from the Hindu epic Ramayana and statues of Ram, Laxman, and Sita.

Lakkar Bazaar
Lakkar Bazaar is a market near Mall Road and offers various wooden arts and crafts items. Sikh artisans who came from Hoshiarpur established the market. They make wonderful wooden toys. You can also get other things like Kashmiri Shawls, jewelry, ornaments, Himachali handicrafts, walking sticks, cutlery, and other souvenirs. You can walk and explore the shops in the market and visit the skating rink here. Lakkar Bazaar is also best for street food such as Maggie, Chaat varieties, ice creams, etc.

The Ridge
Shimla is incomplete without mentioning its most famous tourist attraction, and that is the Ridge. This is the one center that is famous for its cultural, entertainment, and recreational activities. Many of the famous places in Shimla like Mall Road, Jakhoo Temple, Kali Bari, etc. are easily accessible from the Ridge. Shimla monuments such as Christ Church are also located on the Ridge. You can visit the Ridge for a romantic stroll and view the fascinating landscapes of Shimla.

Scandal Point
Scandal Point is a viewpoint in Shimla from where you can view scenic valleys, mountains, and Himalayan landscapes. Scandal Point has its history. It so happened that a British lady, who was the daughter of the viceroy eloped with the Maharaja of Patiala from this place. The viceroy banished the Maharaja and prevented him from entering Shimla. The Maharaja also determined that he will build his summer hill station near Shimla. This hill station was named Chail. Scandal Point is a very attractive place and one where you can do horse riding, shopping, and a nice stroll.

Christ Church
Christ Church is a very popular tourist attraction in Shimla. It ranks among the oldest churches built by Britishers in India. The church offers grand views of the surrounding landscapes in Shimla. Dense forests and lush vegetation surround this church. There is a library next to the church with manuscripts and many books.
