Your tour will start as you arrive in Delhi. We will pick you up from Delhi airport or the pickup point in Delhi and drive to the railway station. Here you will catch a train to Amritsar. It will take around 8-9 hours to reach Amritsar by train. On arrival in Amritsar, you will check in at your pre-booked hotel and rest for some time. We will then take you to visit some local markets in Amritsar where you can do some shopping. Some local bazaars in Amritsar such as Hall Bazaar, Celebration Mall, Lahori Gate Market, and Katra Jaimal Singh Bazaar are very famous places where you can do some shopping. You can also view the Golden Temple at night when it is lit up with lights. After dinner at the hotel, you can rest overnight.
We will begin this day with a tour of the famous Golden Temple. The temple has gold leaf on its structure and that is the reason it is called Golden Temple. You will see devotees taking baths in the Sarovar. Golden Temple is famous for its langar meals and you can sit with hundreds of other pilgrims and eat this festive and delicious langar meal. The kitchen in the Golden Temple is one of the greatest community kitchens in the entire world. After this, we will visit the Jallianwala Bagh, which is a memorial that was built in memory of the martyred people during the infamous Jallianwala Bagh shootout massacre in 1919. You will still see bullet marks on the walls. Later we will visit Durgiana Temple by car. In the afternoon we will visit the Wagah Border where you can watch the flag ceremony and Beating Retreat. Later return to Amritsar in the evening and explore some shopping areas or dine on delicious North Indian meals at famous restaurants.
It is the end of your Delhi Amritsar Tour and you will check out from your hotel in Amritsar and we will drive to the railway station. You will board the train to Delhi and it will take around 8 hours to reach Delhi.
