Today is the start of our Assam Meghalaya tour package. You will arrive in Imphal, and our tour representative will greet you at Imphal Airport. Then we will transfer you to the pre-booked hotel in Imphal. You will do check-in and then some relaxation. You can view the various women selling textiles, fruits, spices, fish, toys at the Khwairamband Bazaar, which is run by women. The bazaar is more than 100 years old and more than 3000 mothers run this bazaar. Men are not allowed to sell anything inside the market.
Now we will visit Govindjee Temple, which is the largest temple of the Vaishnava sect in Manipur. Lord Krishna and Radha are the main deities in this temple. After this sightseeing tour, we will drop you off at the hotel in Imphal. You can enjoy your dinner and then stay here for the night.
This will be a very thrilling day of this Assam Meghalaya tour. We will visit the famous places near Imphal. You can have breakfast and then proceed with us to visit these places. First, we will visit Moirang, which was the capital city of the kings of Manipur. It is also an important place to experience the local Meithei culture. We will pass through the villages and reach Sadu Chiru waterfall. This beautiful waterfall falls from a height of 300 meters. You can take photographs and selfies at the waterfall.
We will now reach the Japanese War Memorial, which is a memorial for soldiers who died during the Second World War. Now we will resume this trip and reach Loktak Lake. This lake ranks among the largest freshwater lakes in India. Loktak Lake is famous for its floating islands and is part of the Kaibul Lamjao National Park. The state animal of Manipur, which is the Sangai, lives in this national park. This is a deer species and is only found in Loktak Lake.

Today you will visit some very interesting places in this Assam and Meghalaya trip. After breakfast, we will visit Moreh, which is a border town on the Indo-Burma border. You will go sightseeing in The Friendship Gate, Tamu, and Namphanglong market. Tamu is a town in Burma and it is just 5 km from Moreh.
Then visit Kangla Fort, which is an old palace complex of the Meetei rulers. It is now in ruins, but you can view the walls, temple ruins, sculptures, and architecture of this fort. Return to the hotel in the evening and rest here for the night.
As per our Assam Meghalaya tour package, you will check-out from Imphal and proceed to visit Kohima. This city is the capital of the neighboring state of Nagaland. We will make a short halt on the route and visit the Heritage Village and Catholic Cathedral.
The Heritage Village is an important cultural place in Nagaland. It is also popular as Kisama Heritage Village. This is a huge space where you can view the Naga houses. This Kisama Heritage Village will look like a Naga village. The Hornbill Festival is celebrated here. The village complex has houses where you can view the exhibits about Naga tribes. There are song and dance which portrays culture and traditions of these tribes.
After this, we will visit the Catholic Church, which has magnificent architecture. The church is very famous in Nagaland. You will be amazed by the fantastic architecture and structure of this church. You can enjoy the views from this church and spend some leisurely time here. As soon as we arrive at the hotel in Kohima, you will check-in and then rest here for a while.
As per the Assam and Meghalaya tour itinerary, we will visit Khonoma. You will have beautiful views of the rice terraces in Khonoma Village. It is even termed the ‘First Green Village’. You can take a walk in the village and view the morungs (traditional houses of the Naga tribes) here. You can meet the villagers and understand their daily life and culture. Later you will be back in the hotel in Kohima. Have dinner and then overnight stay.
Today is yet another day of excitement in this Assam and Meghalaya package. After check-out from Kohima, we will proceed onwards and reach Kaziranga National Park. You will check into the hotel and then spend the day with leisure. Kaziranga National Park ranks among the finest national parks in India. This national park is the home of the endangered One-horned Rhinoceros and Royal Bengal Tiger. Kaziranga National Park is a world-famous heritage site. It is located on the Brahmaputra River which flows through Assam.
You will go on an elephant safari in Kaziranga in the morning from 5.30 to 6.30 am. This will be a very exciting day for this Assam Meghalaya tour package. You can go deep into the jungle and view the tiger, deer, and other creatures. Be ready with your cameras as you can take many wildlife photographs of the rhinoceros. This magnificent creature is found in North East India.
You will visit the Orchid Garden, which has many types of orchid plants. Then return to the hotel and have breakfast. Later you will go for Jeep Safari, which will give you a different experience of Kaziranga. This jeep safari will cover the Central Range of the park. You will visit the Daphlang and Kathpora areas of the park.

As per our tour packages for Assam and Meghalaya, we will check-out from Kaziranga. Take time to visit the Shiva temple here which is Mahabhairav Temple. Then we will proceed towards Shillong. You can make a short halt on the route and visit Umiam Lake. Here go boating in the lake and view the spectacular natural beauty of the lake. Then proceed further and reach Shillong. After check-in, we will visit a local bazaar called Police Bazaar. You can go shopping for local handicraft items. Then return to the hotel and stay there for the night.
In this Assam Meghalaya tour package, we will visit Mawlynnong. People popularly call this village as the Cleanest Village in Asia. You can walk on the Sky Walk Bridge and enjoy the panoramic views of Mawlynnong Village. The Sky Walk is at a height of 80 feet and you can also view the rice fields of Bangladesh.
We will trek to Rewai Village and then trek up to Living Root Bridge. The Khasi tribe has made this bridge with natural things like roots. The bridge is still used by the tribal people to reach other corners of the village. You can take a walk on the bridge and view the river flow beneath.
Then visit the village called Dawki, where the Dawki River flows. This river is called the Umngot River in Bangladesh. The most amazing thing about this river is that it is so transparent that you can actually view the rocks at the bottom of the river. The Dawki village is located on the border between India and Bangladesh. It is an important trade center. You can enjoy a local boat ride at Dawki at your expense. You can also drive to the Bangladesh border and take a look at the region. Then return to Shillong and stay in the hotel for the night.
In our Assam Meghalaya tour itinerary, we will visit Cherrapunjee on this day. We will start soon after breakfast and you will reach Cherrapunjee, which is famous as the wettest place in the world. You can view the Elephant Falls on the route to Cherrapunjee. Also, view panoramic landscapes from the Duwan Sing Syiem View Point. This viewpoint offers you scenic views of the hills and valleys. The sight of waterfalls will thrill you.
After spending some time at this viewpoint, we will resume our day trip and reach Sohra. This is another name for Cherrapunjee. Here you will visit the famous waterfalls like Dainthlen Falls, Seven Sisters (Nohsngithiang Falls), and Nohkalikai Falls. You can view these waterfalls from a viewpoint and take photographs and selfies. Then we will visit Mawsmai Caves, which are limestone caves of prehistoric origin. We will be back in Shillong after this day trip to Cherrapunjee. Then you can have dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.
As per the Assam Meghalaya Manipur tour packages, we will check-out from Shillong and reach Guwahati. Check into the hotel in Guwahati on arrival and then relax for some time. After you have freshened up, we will take you to visit the Kamakhya Temple. This is a Shakti Peeth Temple and is famous for Tantrik rituals. There are many smaller temples near the original temple.
In the evening we will go on a river cruise on the Brahmaputra River. This evening cruise will be a fantastic experience for you. The sights of the nearby temples and ghats will leave you mesmerized.
Later on, after this sightseeing of Guwahati, we will return to the hotel. You can have dinner in the in-house restaurant of the hotel, and then stay in the hotel for the night.
