On your first day of this Bhutan Tour, you will arrive in Paro. On landing at Paro International Airport, our tour representative will assist you with the transfer to the hotel in Paro. You will do hotel check-in and rest to relax a bit after the long flight. Paro is a town that has historical Buddhist pagodas, scenic valleys, royal palaces, and other buildings. Later on in the day, you will visit the Paro Taktsang Monastery, which is one of the historical Buddhist temples. You can view the landscape of Paro, as this monastery is situated on the slopes of a huge mountain. This monastery is also very popular as the Tiger’s Nest, as it is believed that the great Tibetan saint and tantric Guru Padmasambhava came here riding a tigress. After this short visit to the monastery, you will return to your hotel in Paro. You will have dinner and taste the delicious Bhutanese dishes. Later you will rest in the hotel with a good night’s sleep in the hotel in Paro.
You will wake up to a beautiful morning and have a delicious breakfast and tea in the hotel in Paro. Later you will go sightseeing in Paro and visit some very famous landmarks and historical places in Paro. This includes Paro Rinpung Dzong, which is a Buddhist monastery and fortress. This monastery is a classic masterpiece of Bhutanese architecture. You will find many shrines and stupas inside with thangka paintings, a prayer hall, and idols. This is an ancient monastery and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. You will now move on in this tour of Paro and visit Kyichu Temple, which is considered to be one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. This temple dates back to the 7th century, and it has prayer halls, Buddhist idols and statues, and picturesque Tibetan architecture and décor. After this visit, you will proceed to yet another famous tourist destination in Bhutan, which is the capital city of Thimpu. Thimpu is very close to Paro. During this Paro to Thimpu cab drive you can enjoy the scenic route and the grand vistas of the Himalayan mountains from your car seat. You will pass through magnificent Buddhist temples, gompas, river streams, bridges, and farmlands. When you arrive in Thimpu after around 2 hours of driving you can check-in at the hotel and later have a night’s stay at the hotel.
Today you will be going on a sightseeing tour of Thimpu by car and viewing the wonderful historic landmarks in Thimpu. We will make the first stop at Motithang Takin Preserve. This is a wildlife area and protected preserve where you will spot the national animal of Bhutan, which is the Takin. We will visit Tashichho Dzong, which is a Buddhist monastery and fortress on the Wang Chu River. You will find lawns, gardens, halls, and offices of the Bhutan Government here. The construction of Tashichho Dzong dates back to the 13th century. From here we will go on our sightseeing tour of Thimpu and visit the Crafts Bazaar, where you will find colorful handicraft items on display. The gentle Bhutanese people here will welcome you with their innocent smiles and you will enjoy their hospitality. The shops here display such items as eco-friendly bamboo items, fabrics, paintings, etc. We will later visit the National Folk Heritage Museum, which is a museum that showcases Bhutanese culture and royal traditions. You will find many exhibits here which include traditional utensils, farm equipment, etc. After this sightseeing tour of Thimpu, we will return to the hotel and then spend the night here.
This is the last day of this Bhutan Tour. You will drive to Paro where our tour representative will drop you at Paro International Airport. You will bid goodbye to Bhutan and leave with sweet memories.
