Your North East Tour starts after you arrive in Guwahati. We will pick you up from the railway station or airport and drive to Shillong. This is a drive of around 3-4 hours by car. Shillong is the most beautiful hill station in Meghalaya and is also its capital city. You can rest at the hotel for some time and then we will visit Umiam Lake, which is a very picturesque lake with many adventure activities. You can indulge in several activities like water sports, boating, etc. You can visit several viewpoints on the lake and capture the scenic landscapes. Umiam Lake is one of the best tourist spots in Meghalaya where you can have a relaxing time with some adventure. Later after this adventure trip to Umiam Lake return to your hotel in Shillong and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Today we will take a day trip to Mawlynnong Village, which is one of the cleanest villages in India. This village is very close to the Bangladesh border and you can see the border from the viewpoint. You can explore the houses in the village and interact with the locals to get to know more about their lifestyle. But the best thing to do in Mawlynnong Village is to walk on the Jingmaham Living Root Bridge. The bridge is not man-made but is made of tree roots which are then made into a bridge. You will have to do some trekking on foot to reach this place. But once you are here it is like a magical feeling to walk on the natural-made bridge. The Khasi tribes make the roots into a sort of bridge to cross the rivers and reach remote parts of Meghalaya. Later on in the day you can return to Shillong and spend the rest of the day at the hotel.
You will now check out from Shillong and visit yet another famous destination of North East which is Cherrapunjee. This is a hill station in Meghalaya, which is famous for its waterfalls and scenic landscapes. Cherrapunjee is also the place where it rains the heaviest. On arrival, you can check in at the hotel and then visit Seven Sisters Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, and Mawsmai Caves. The Seven Sisters Waterfall is one of the tremendous waterfalls in Asia with its seven different streams flowing down in the form of a huge waterfall. A visit to these caves is a must-do activity when visiting Meghalaya. The eerie limestone caves and their formations are undoubtedly one of the most thrilling places in Meghalaya. You will have to creep through narrow tunnels and crawl through the interiors of the caves with the help of tube lights. We will return to the hotel in Cherrapunjee and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
After this 4D tour of the North East, you will checkout from Cherrapunjee and then back to Guwahati from where you can catch a train or flight to your hometown.
