Your first day of this Bhutan Tour starts with your arrival in Paro. Our tour representative will greet you at Paro International Airport and we will drive on to our first destination of this Bhutan Tour, which is Thimpu. On our way, you can make short halts to visit some tourist spots on this route. Chuzom is a very scenic place and two rivers meet here, which are the Thimchu River and the Pachu River. There is a huge gate here and some shrines near the river confluence point.
Later you can make a short halt at Tachogang Lhakhang or Tachog Lhakhang. This is an old bridge and a Tibetan temple, which is also called as ‘Temple of the Excellent Horse’. The temple has many idols and books. Later you will continue your journey to Thimpu.
On arrival in Thimpu, you can check-in at the hotel and then rest for some time to shake off the travel fatigue from the journey. Later on in the day, you will visit some historic places in Thimpu such as Tashichho Dzong. This is a Buddhist temple and fortress, where there are various prayer halls, Tibetan architecture, Buddhist deities, and residences. You will find Bhutanese government offices here, together with the royal chambers and offices of the Bhutan royal kings.
You will now move on to this tour and visit the Crafts Bazaar, where you can find many souvenirs and Bhutanese handicraft items. After this Thimpu sightseeing tour, you will return to your hotel and rest here for the night.
On the second day of this Bhutan Tour, you will go sightseeing in Thimpu and visit the famous tourist attractions. We will visit Buddha Point, which is also called Kuensel Phodrang. This statue of Buddha is considered to be one of the largest Buddha statues in Bhutan. Buddha Point also offers you scenic landscape views of the valley and forests.
You will now move on and visit King’s Memorial Choten, which is a stupa with incredible Bhutanese architecture. The mere sight of this memorial is enough to amaze you. The golden spire, bells, Tibetan prayer wheels, carvings, sculpted gates, and images of Buddhist deities makes this one of the best attractions in Thimpu. Many Bhutanese people come here daily to circumambulate the stupa and spin the prayer wheels to pray to the Buddha.
After this visit, you will continue your tour and visit Textile Museum. Here you will see various Bhutanese textiles, royal costumes, crowns of kings, handloom, etc. After lunch, you can check-out from Thimpu and proceed to visit Punakha via Do Chu La Pass. On the way, you will view the most scenic Himalayan landscapes, small villages, valleys, rice fields, distant mountains, and river streams. You can make a short halt at various places here to admire the scenery and chortens. You can make a short halt at 108 Buddha Stupas, at Do Chu La Pass. You can view caves, chortens, and Buddhist temples on the way.
You can also explore Wangdue Town, and visit the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong. This is a Buddhist temple built on a small hill that overlooks the river and has beautiful valley views. Later you can continue your tour and reach Punakha, where you can stay for the night at the hotel.
Today you will visit the best places in Punakha after breakfast. We will visit Punakha Dzong, which is a magnificent structure. This Buddhist temple and fortress is located at the confluence of two rivers called Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu.
We will next visit the Chimi Lhakhang, which is a Buddhist temple on a small hill. The temple has beautiful architecture and a prayer hall. There are tantrik symbols inside the temple and it is said that women who want to bear children come here and get their prayers answered.
We will now go on a walking tour of a nearby village and know about the social and culture of the village. After this tour, you will check-out from Punakha and drive to Paro. This is a 4-5 hour drive and on the way you will pass through Do Chu La Pass, Paro town, Paro Chhu River, Wang Chhu River valleys, and many other scenic places. We can make a halt at Simtokha Dzong, which is a Buddhist temple and fortress. Moving onwards on our tour you will reach the town of Paro and check-in at the hotel.
We can spend the evening taking a walk in Paro. This town has many museums, Buddhist temples, scenic valleys, and mountain views. You will stay overnight at the hotel in Paro.
Today we will spend the entire day sightseeing in the town of Paro. First, we will visit the Taktsang Monastery, and this monastery is also called Tiger’s Nest. The Buddhist monastery is located on a side of a huge hill and it will take around 4-5 hours to reach the monastery. You can try going on a trek to this monastery only if you have a good athletic body and are very fit in the body.
Later we will visit the Ta Dzong, which also houses the National Museum of Bhutan. Here you will find many ancient and rare exhibits like Bhutanese paintings, modern art, rural handicrafts, textiles, weapons, handicrafts, and others.
We will now visit Paro Dzong, which is also popularly called Rinpung Dzong. This Buddhist temple and fortress have incredible architecture and many shrines, halls, and stupas. After this sightseeing in Paro, we will drop you at your hotel and you can stay here for the night.
You have arrived on the last day of this Bhutan Tour. After breakfast, you will check-out from Paro and we will drop you at Paro International Airport. You can take a flight to your hometown.
