The first day of your tour will start from Delhi. We will pick you up from Delhi Airport, Delhi railway station, or any other pickup point in Delhi. We will then drive to Agra by car. This Mughal capital city is on the banks of the Yamuna River. After arrival in Agra, you can check-in at the hotel. The Taj Mahal is the first monument that you will visit in Agra. This is the most beautiful marble monuments in the world. We will now visit the Agra Fort, which is another Mughal fort with incredible architecture. Now we will visit Mehtab Bagh, which offers great views of the Taj Mahal. You can also go boating in the Yamuna River at the Taj Mahal.
After lunch, you will drive by car to visit Fatehpur Sikri. This ruined capital city has some of the best attractions such as Buland Darwaza, Jodhabai’s Palace, Panch Mahal, and Tomb of Salim Chisti. You can spend 2-3 hours at Fatehpur Sikri. In the evening you will return to Agra and explore the local market for shopping and dining. You can spend the rest of your day at the hotel in leisure.
On this day you will check-out from Agra and we will now visit another famous destination on this tour, which is Gwalior. On arrival in Gwalior, you can check-in at the hotel, which was pre-booked for this tour. After some rest, we will visit the most famous Gwalior Fort. This fort was described by Babur as the ‘Pearl among the fortresses in India’. This fort is among the most beautiful forts in India. This is a very well-maintained fort and you can visit Man Mandir, Gujari Mahal, and various other palaces in the fort.
Later we will visit the Saas Bahu Temple, Tomb of Ghaus Mohammed, and Tomb of Tansen. These are very beautiful and elegant monuments with incredible architecture and carvings. After lunch, we will take you to visit the Sun Temple, which is an incredible temple dedicated to the Sun God of the Hindu religion. This temple is designed just like the Konark Sun Temple in Orissa. Then you will visit the Jai Vilas Palace. This magnificent palace has a huge library, and museum, and is still the residence of the Scindia rulers. After this tour of Gwalior, you can spend the rest of the day at the hotel.
You will now check-out from Gwalior and visit yet another famous tourist destination of this tour, which is Jhansi. On arrival in Jhansi, you can check-in at the hotel and rest for some time. Jhansi Fort is the first monument that you will visit in Jhansi. This famous fort is one of the best-maintained forts in India. Jhansi Fort is also one of the most spectacular forts in the whole of India. The various places that you can visit in this fort are the Kadak Bijli Cannon, Shiva Temple, gates, and a memorial where Rani Laxmibai jumped from the fort on horseback.
After lunch, you will visit Orchha, which is famous for its palaces, temples, chhatris, and cenotaphs. We will take you on a tour of the best places here in Orchha. Orchha Fort is a 16th-century fort complex with incredible architecture, lattice windows, huge courtyards, palaces, temples, and other monuments. The most notable monuments that you will visit here are Jahangir Mahal, Ram Raja Mandir, Raja Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, and Phool Bagh. The paintings, pavilions, entrance gates, and museum are some things to watch out for when you visit Orchha Fort.
Chaturbhuj Temple is also a great temple with incredible architecture. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and has magnificent carvings, sculptures, idols, and temple architecture. Laxminarayan Temple is an equally magnificent temple in Orchha. You can go on a boat trip to the Betwa River, which flows through Orchha. Later return to Jhansi and rest for the day at the hotel.
You will now check out from Jhansi and visit another famous destination of this tour, which is Khajuraho. The Khajuraho temples are world-famous for their incredible sculptures, carvings, and architectural beauty. On arrival in Khajuraho, you can check-in at the hotel. Then you will visit the most famous temple in Khajuraho, which is Kandariya Mahadev Temple. The temple is a very ancient temple that was built in 1050 AD and it is one of the best temples in Khajuraho. Laxman Temple is an equally brilliant temple with magnificent sculptures, temple construction, carvings, idols, and artistic beauty.
Dulhadev Temple is yet another famous temple that we will visit. This temple has a Shivlinga and sculptures of apsaras and damsels. Other temples that you can visit are Chausath Yogini Temple, Javari Temple, and Varaha Temple. Sound and Light show is held here in the evenings and it is an audio-visual show about the Khajuraho Temples and its history. After this Khajuraho visit, you will return to your hotel in Khajuraho and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
We will now check out from Khajuraho and proceed to visit Prayagraj. On the way, you will visit Chitrakoot. This place is linked to Ramayana, and Ram, Laxman, and Sita stayed here for a long time during their exile period. You can visit many places which are linked directly to the Ramayana times. Ram Ghat is a lovely river ghat on the Mandakini River and it is said that Lord Ram appeared before Tulsidas here. Hanuman Dhara is a river stream and a pond with many langur monkeys. You will visit Bharat Milap Mandir, and this temple is said to be the meeting place of Ram and Bharat. Kamadgiri is a place with many temples. After this visit to Chitrakoot, you can now move onwards and reach Prayagraj, which is the new name of Allahabad. You can check-in at the hotel and have a rest in the hotel.
You will have a tour of all the best places in Prayagraj today. You will visit the Triveni Sangam and have a dip in the holy waters. Triveni Sangam is a very holy place and this is the meeting place of three very sacred rivers of India, Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati. You will visit Chandrashekhar Azad Park, and this park is the place where the great freedom fighter Chandrashekhar Azad was shot and killed by the British troops. Later you will visit the All Saints Cathedral. This church is world famous for its gothic-style architecture and was built in 1887.
After lunch, you can visit Swaraj Bhawan. This was once the house of Motilal Nehru. The museum here has a charkha and several rare photographs of freedom fighters. There is a garden where you can relax in the green environs. We will take you on a visit to Allahabad Museum, where you can visit the Rock Art gallery, prehistoric relics, manuscripts, coins, paintings, modern art, objects from the Harappan civilization, etc. We will now take you on a visit to one of the bazaars in Prayagraj where you can shop for handicrafts, ethnic wear, garments, and other items. In the evening you can rest in your hotel and dine on authentic dishes.
You will visit the famous Allahabad Fort in the morning. The fort is the biggest fort that Emperor Akbar built during his lifetime. The enormous fort has the famous Akshayvat, which is a very old banyan tree. The Allahabad Fort is the finest example of Mughal architecture. Later we will take you to visit the Khusro Bagh, which is a Mughal garden with chhatris, Mughal-era monuments, tombs, sandstone sculptures, and Persian inscriptions. Now we will visit Anand Bhawan, which is a historic building, with vintage architecture, and Jawahar Planetarium.
We will now take you to visit the University of Allahabad, which is the oldest university in India. It has a wonderful campus with incredible buildings and colleges. This university is famous for the name the ‘Oxford of the East’. After this, we will take you to visit Shankar Viman Mandapam, which is a multi-storey temple. The temple has a South Indian style of architecture. In the evening you can explore the local market and take part in the Ganga Aarti at Triveni Sangam. The boat ride in the Ganges River is a great experience. Later you can spend the night at your hotel.
You will now check out from Prayagraj and return to Delhi. We will drop you at Delhi airport, railway station, or any other drop point.
