Your exciting 8N 9D Tamil Nadu tour package starts from Chennai. As soon as you arrive in Chennai we take you to Mahabalipuram, which is a drive of about 3 hours by private cab. Mahabalipuram is one of the greatest UNESCO World Heritage monuments in India. You will visit the Shore Temple, which is one of the most brilliant examples of early temples of ancient India. There are many other monuments which are equally wonderful such as Five Rathas, Arjuna’s Penance, and Mahishasura Mardini Cave Temple. You can spend the evening at the beach and view the Mamallapuram Lighthouse in the distance. You can pay a visit to the India Seashell Museum to see some seashells, conches, and other exhibits. Come back to your hotel after this exciting visit and rest for the night.
Mamallapuram to Pondicherry is just a drive of around 2 hours. You will check out from Mamallapuram and head to Pondicherry, which is your next stop on this 9D Tamil Nadu tour. You will check in at your hotel and visit Aurobindo Ashram, and visit the places where Sri Aurobindo and the Mother lived. Visit Auroville and see the spectacular futuristic building. This is a place where more than 2700 people from 50 countries live with each other in harmony. You can visit Puducherry Beach and walk on the Promenade which is best to view sunsets. You can spend the evening at a café and rest for the day at your hotel.
After this visit to Pondicherry, you will now check out from your hotel and drive on to Thanjavur. The drive from Pondicherry to Thanjavur is about 5 hours. On your arrival and after checking in at your hotel, you will visit the most famous sightseeing place in Thanjavur which is Brihadeeswara Temple. The temple is a marvel of Chola architecture and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is a Shiva temple and is so sacred that it is called Dakshin Meru. Thanjavur is also called Tanjore and is an epicenter of Tamil culture. Another famous place in Tanjore is the Thanjavur Maratha Palace, which has incredible architecture and royal décor. The Royal Palace Museum has a rich collection of paintings, sculptures, and ancient artwork. Return to your hotel in the evening and rest for the night.
You will checkout from Tanjore on this day and we drive to our next exciting destination of this Tamil Nadu tour. Rameswaram is about 5 hours by drive from Thanjavur. After we reach Rameswaram, you will visit the spectacular Ramanathaswamy Temple. It is one of the biggest temples in India and is one of the most sacred Jyotirlinga temples of Lord Shiva. We also visit other places in Rameswaram like Adam’s Bridge, Dhanushkodi Beach, Agni Teertham, etc. Rameswaram is the best place to view the endless ocean waters and its pristine beaches. We arrive at the hotel in the evening and spend the rest of the day here.
We check out from Rameswaram and head to our next destination, which is Kanyakumari. This is the southernmost point of India. On the route, you will visit Tiruchendur Sri Subrahmanyeswara Swamy Temple. This is a centuries-old temple with towering gopurams and natural springs. After arrival in Kanyakumari, you can check in at the hotel and later visit Rock Memorial and watch a spectacular sunset.
Start your next day with a fantastic sunrise over the ocean waters. After breakfast, you can head to Thiruvananthapuram. This is a cab journey of almost 3 hours. On the way, you can visit the Thanumalayan temple at Suchindram. The deity in this temple has three heads, Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh. You can also visit Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, which is famous all over India for its tall towers, Dravidian architecture, and ornate carvings. In the evening you can enjoy a walk at Kovalam Beach and return to Kanyakumari. In the hotel, you can now spend the rest of the night.
After checking out from Kanyakumari you can now visit the next destination of this tour which is Madurai. After checking in at your hotel you will now visit the famous Meenakshi Amman Temple which is famous all over India for its incredible architecture. You can taste the delicious street food in Madurai and have the temple prasad. You will now arrive back at your hotel and rest for the night.
After checking out of Madurai in the morning, we drive to Tiruvannamalai. You can stop on the route to visit the famous Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple at Srirangam. This temple ranks as the tallest temple in India. You can now proceed with your visit to Tiruvannamalai and upon arrival visit the Arunachaleshwar Temple. Go for a darshan at the temple in the evening and take part in the evening festivities at the temple. After this visit, return to your hotel and rest for the night.
This ninth day is the end of your Tamil Nadu 8N 9D tour. After breakfast in Tiruvannamalai, we will depart for Chennai, which is a journey of 5 hours. On arrival in Chennai, we will drop you at the airport or railway station, from where you can commence your return journey back to your home town.
