Your tour starts with your arrival in Mumbai. You will check in at your hotel and have an overnight stay with rest.
You will tour the fabulous Elephanta Caves on this day. You can have breakfast and then go on the catamaran to the island of Elephanta. This is a 1-hour boat ride after which you will land at Elephanta Island. The tour guide will explain to you the marvelous sculptures that you will see in the Elephanta Caves. These are UNESCO World Heritage Sites and the finest rock-cut caves in India. You can visit several caves here for 2-3 hours. After this visit, come back to the hotel and explore some nearby places such as Gateway of India, Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, etc. You can explore some local markets and shop around for some time. Later rest for the night in your hotel.
We will start this day with a visit to Nashik from Mumbai, which is around 4 hours by cab. In Nashik, you will check in at your hotel and then proceed to visit the famous Jyotirlinga Temple of Trimbakeshwar. This temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples of Lord Shiva and is very ancient. There are many legends associated with this temple. The temple is a fine example of temple architecture. The crowns over the lingas are studded with diamonds, emeralds, and many other precious metals and stones. After this visit, we will explore other places in Nashik such as Pannchvati, Sita Gufa, Muktidham Mandir, Pandav Leni Caves, Kalaram Mandir, etc. You will now stay overnight at your hotel in Nashik.
In the morning we will visit our next Maharashtra destination, which is Shirdi. This is a holy place where the great saint Sai Baba lived and died. His Samadhi is the main temple in Shirdi. This temple is called Samadhi Mandir. Many other places in Shirdi are linked to the great saint and you can also visit all these places on this day. Some of the most famous among them are Gurusthan and Dwarkamai. After this visit, you can return to your hotel and rest for the night.
In the morning, you will check out from Shirdi and drive on to your next big Maharashtra destination, which is Ajanta Caves. We will go through Aurangabad, and this drive will be for 4-5 hours. Ajanta Caves are rock-cut caves that are a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Maharashtra. The caves are known for their incredible architecture, fresco paintings, sculptures, and idols. These caves are older than the famous Ellora Caves and consist of 24 Buddhist monasteries. These monasteries have been carved out of rock. Later after this visit, we will see the Aurangabad places such as Bibi ka Maqbara. In the evening, you can rest overnight at your hotel in Aurangabad.
On this day we will visit another famous UNESCO World Heritage Site that is Ellora Caves. The caves are famous for their rock-cut architecture and the main monument that you can visit here is the Kailas Temple. There are 34 caves here and you can visit some famous monuments here such as Kailasa Temple, Buddhist stupas, etc. We will now leave Ellora Caves behind and head to our next destination, which is Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga. This temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples of Lord Shiva and is a remarkable temple with beautiful architecture. We will now drive onwards to Ahmednagar and make a stop at Shani Shingnapur Temple, which is a temple of Shani Dev, the planet Saturn in the Hindu religion. The temple is a very famous temple in Maharashtra and devotees visit this temple along with their visit to Shirdi. After this visit, we will drive on to Ahmednagar and check in at the hotel and stay overnight.
On this day we will visit the famous Ashtavinayak temple at Lenyadri. Lenyadri is famous for the Ashtavinayak Ganapati Temple, which is an immensely famous temple of Lord Ganapati. The idol is worshipped as Girijatmaja and is in a cave that is famous as Lenyadri Buddhist Caves. These caves are also rock-cut caves with a scenic background of hills and forests. Lenyadri is one of the major places in the Ashtavinayak Pilgrimage Tour in Maharashtra. We will now drive to Bhimashankar, which is our next destination on this tour. On arrival at Bhimashankar, we will check in at the hotel and have overnight rest.
We will begin this day with a visit to Bhimashankar Temple, which is one of the Jyotirlinga temples of Lord Shiva. The temple is situated in the middle of thick forests and hilly terrain. Besides, the temple architecture is 18th-century and is incredible in its sculptures and carvings on stone. You will have to go on a trail through a jungle that leads to Gupt Bhima. This site is said to be the place of origin of the Bhima River. After this visit, you will now drive to Lonavala, which is a drive of about 3-4 hours by cab. On arrival in Lonavala, you can check in at your hotel and rest for the night.
In the morning, we will have an early breakfast, and drive to Mumbai for departure. We will drop you at the railway station or airport from where you can return to your home town.
