On this first day of your Assam Arunachal Birding Tour, you will arrive in Guwahati. Our tour representative will greet you at Guwahati Airport/ Guwahati Railway Station and we will drive to Manas National Park. This national park is enlisted as one of the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Sites in North East India. The Himalayan foothills, river streams, wetlands, and alluvial terrain forms much of the landscape of this national park. On the way to Manas, you can enjoy the scenic views of the mountains and lush green forests. Try to spot some birds on the way. On reaching Manas National Park you will check into the hotel/ jungle resort/ forest camp and have overnight rest.
Today will be an exciting day as you will spot many birds and animals in Manas National Park. You will start with a morning jeep safari and you can explore the central region of this national park. We will reach a place called Mathanguri, which is very close to the Indo-Bhutan border. Mathanguri is the best place where you can spot birds. You can check all the birds you spot here in the wilderness of the jungle. You can spot several birds here from the watchtower and viewpoints. The birds that are found here include Crested Serpent Eagle, Black Drongo, Oriental Honey Buzzard, Red Collard Dove, European Pied Flycatcher, Black-winged Cuckoo Shrike, Lesser Adjutant Stork, and others. You will continue this bird-watching tour after lunch till evening and spot many birds. In the evening you will have dinner and an overnight stay in Manas.
After breakfast and check-out from Manas, you will reach Nameri National Park. Like Manas, Nameri is also a tiger reserve. When you check-in at the jungle resort/ eco camp you will now spend the rest of the day in leisure activities. You will have dinner and an overnight stay in Nameri.
Today you will wake up early and do an early morning bird-watching tour in Nameri National Park. The most spectacular bird you can watch is the white-winged wood duck. You can also spot several other birds such as hornbills, babblers, plovers, black storks, ibisbills, bee-eaters, and others. After breakfast, you can go on a river rafting in the Jia-Bhoroli River, which is a major river flowing through the park. You will spend the afternoon time again watching birds. Later you will have dinner at the eco-resort and stay here overnight.
After you have checked out from Nameri you will proceed to another spectacular birding site in the North East, which is called Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary. You can visit Tipi Orchid Centre on the way. Later you will do birding at the Lama Camp area. After you have done bird watching you will rest overnight at Lama Camp.
Today you will go for a full-day birding exploration in Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary. This is one of the most spectacular bird sanctuaries in entire North East India and the birdlife here is rich and varied. Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary spans a vast area from Lama Camp to Khellong. We will go on a birding trip from Tenga and through Eaglenest Pass onwards to Kamengbari. This is one of the most exciting birding trips in the northeastern parts of India. You can spot birds like hornbills, pheasants, cormorants, martins, pittas, drongos, woodpeckers, kingfishers, tragopan, and others. Later you will have dinner in Lama Camp and have overnight rest.
You will continue on this Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary bird-watching tour. Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary is home to an amazing 450 different bird species. The diversity of terrain, the deep woods, bamboo groves, and conifer forests are home to some amazing birdlife. The common birds you can spot here are ibisbill, emerald cuckoo, monal pheasant, and others. You will stay overnight at the Lamp Camp.
After breakfast and check-out from Eaglenest, you will reach Kaziranga National Park. But you will also make halts along the route and spot amazing birds. Kaziranga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and ranks among the finest birding places in the northeastern part of India. Although the One-Horned Rhinoceros is the most famous animal of this national park the birdlife is no less enchanting. You will find tigers, elephants, wild buffalo, wild boar, and many other creatures in this national park. You will check into your jungle resort/ hotel in Kaziranga and rest here for the night.
We will go early in the morning for a jeep safari in Kaziranga National Park. We will visit the Central range of this national park and spot the amazing birds and animals which roam here. You will find water birds like Grey Headed Fishing Eagles, Falcate Teal, pelicans, Crested Serpent Eagle, White Eyed Pochard, and others. We will embark on yet another jeep safari in the afternoon and this time visit the Western ranges of this national park. Later you will have dinner at your jungle resort and have an overnight stay.
Today you will visit Panbari Reserve and later go on a jeep safari at Kaziranga National Park. We will visit the Eastern range and spot birds and animals. Later you will have overnight rest in the jungle lodge at Kaziranga.
Today you will check-out from Kaziranga and proceed to Guwahati. You can check into the hotel in Guwahati and later visit the famous Kamakhya Devi Temple. In the evening you can go on a boat cruise on the Brahmaputra River. Have an overnight stay in Guwahati.
Today is the final day of this Assam Arunachal Birding Tour. After breakfast and check-out from the hotel in Guwahati, you will proceed to Guwahati Airport/ Guwahati Railway Station. You will now board the scheduled flight/ train and reach your hometown.
