Your Bhutan Tour starts as you land at Paro International Airport in Bhutan. You will see the mighty peaks of the Himalayan Mountains from the aircraft window. You will get to know their names if the weather is clear and your pilot will help you with their names as you pass through them. As you descend on the airport you can view farmlands, forests, temples, monasteries, and valleys. This flight to Bhutan can be one of the most treasured experiences of your life. You can also make out the Paro Dzong, the fortress, and Paro Chu, the Paro River. Our tour representative will greet you when you land at Paro Airport. We will now reach Thimpu, which is the capital city of Bhutan. You will get transferred to the hotel in Thimpu and here you can rest for the rest of the day.
Today you will visit the most famous monuments and tourist landmarks in Thimpu. This city of Bhutan has some unique attractions and its traffic system is most unique and fascinating. You will not find traffic lights here but the traffic police at major intersections and roads direct the traffic with their hand gestures and movements. You can visit the National Memorial Chorten, which is a Buddhist stupa and is the most visible Buddhist monument in Thimpu. You will visit Buddha Statue, which is located in the high mountains. Later you will visit the Takin Zoo and spot the Takin, which is the national animal of Bhutan. We will visit Tashichho Dzong, which is a huge fortress and Buddhist monastery. You will visit the National Library of Bhutan and Folk Heritage Museum, where you can have a glimpse into the culture and history of Bhutan through various exhibits and objects. Later you will take a walk in the Handicraft Bazaar and view the fascinating handicraft items and traditional arts and crafts in Thimpu. Later in the day you can take a relaxing walk from Clock Tower Square and do some shopping. You will have dinner at your hotel and taste various Bhutanese delicacies and cuisine. Now you can have an overnight stay at the hotel in Thimpu.
You will check-out from Thimpu and drive towards Punakha Valley. On the way, you will pass through Dochula Pass and Hongtsho village. You will drive on some of the beautiful landscapes in Bhutan on this route. You will need to stop at various checkpoints and stamp on your permit. You will find the 108 Druk Wangyal chortens on the high mountain pass and prayer flags fluttering in the winds. You can view the high mountain summits if the weather is clear. The mountains that you can view here are Gangkhar Puensum, which is yet to be climbed by humans. You will reach Punakha via Thinleygang village and see Buddhist monasteries in the distance and high towering Himalayan peaks. You will pass through small villages. Later you can visit Punakha Dzong, which is a fortress and palace that dates back to the 17th century. The huge fortress is at the meeting point of the two rivers Pho Chu and Mo Chu. You will now have an entire evening in which you can rest in your hotel or do some leisure activities. After dinner, you can stay in the hotel at Punakha for the night.
You will now check-out from Punakha and drive onwards to Thimpu. On the way, you can stop for some time at Lamperi and visit the Royal Botanical Park. This park has some beautiful rhododendron flowering plants and oak, birch, magnolia, and other trees. You can admire the views of the chortens at Druk Wangyel Monastery from the park. You will also spot Monal pheasants, red pandas, musk deer, and other animals here. The lake here is used for rituals and is extremely photogenic. After this short halt at Royal Botanical Park, you can continue your journey to Paro. On the way, you will have fascinating views of the Semtokha Dzong, which is a fortress. On reaching Paro, you will do check-in at the hotel and then stay here for the night.
You will embark on an exciting day trip to Paro on this day. We will start this tour after breakfast and you can visit the various tourist attractions and landmarks in Paro. We will visit Paro Dzong, which is a Buddhist monastery and an imposing fortress. You will visit the National Museum of Bhutan, which has a huge collection of Bhutanese paintings, bronze statues, and other specimens of Bhutanese art and history. We will visit Kyichu Lhakhang, which is a 7th-century temple that is considered to be the oldest in Bhutan. Our last attraction of this Paro tour will be the Tiger’s Nest, which is another name for the Paro Taktsang. This is a cliff-top shrine and monastery where the great Tibetan saint Guru Padmasambhava practiced Tibetan meditation and preached the principles of Buddhism to his followers. We will, later on, relax after this sightseeing trip and explore the local market in Paro for some souvenirs.
You have arrived on the last day of this Bhutan Tour. After check-out from the hotel in Paro, you will reach Paro International Airport and take a flight to your hometown.
