This is the first day of this Gorumara & Jaldapara Wildlife Tour. When you arrive at Bagdogra Airport/ New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, our tour representative will pick you up and drive onwards to Gorumara National Park. You can do check-in at the wildlife resort on arrival. Later you can spend the rest of the day at leisure and relax in the hotel. You will have dinner and an overnight stay.
Today we will wake up early and go for the wildlife safari in Gorumara National Park for the first time. Gorumara National Park is a famous national park in West Bengal and is located in the foothills of the Himalayas. The grasslands and forests are ideal habitats for one-horned rhinos, wild elephants, gaur, chital, sambar, pygmy hog, hispid hare, and other mammals. You will also find birds like hornbills, paradise flycatchers, brahmin ducks, pheasants, peafowls, and other birds.
After breakfast, you can rest in the resort. After lunch, you can again go on a wildlife safari and spot the amazing wildlife of Gorumara National Park. You can have more clear and panoramic views of the lush green landscapes of Gorumara National Park from the Jatraprasad Watchtower. This watchtower is a very famous viewing point for wildlife. The watchtower is named after an elephant. There are many other watchtowers in Gorumara National Park like Rhino Point Watch Tower, Chandrachur Watch Tower, and Chukchuki Bird Watching Point. You can spend some time on the watchtower and later return to the resort.
Today we will have another chance to spot the wildlife of Gorumara National Park. We will wake up early and go for the wildlife safari in Gorumara National Park. You can return for breakfast and rest till lunch. After lunch, you can again go for a wildlife safari in Gorumara National Park.
We will visit the Rhino Observation Tower. This watchtower is located near a reservoir where animals and birds come to drink the water. You can have very good views of the various creatures that come here. Later you can do a trekking tour in Gorumara National Park. You can have a very different wildlife experience from this jungle trekking. You can visit various areas of this national park and view the animals and forests more closely. Later you will return to the jungle resort and stay here for the night.
Today we will check-out from Gorumara National Park and reach another famous wildlife destination of West Bengal, which is Jaldapara National Park. On the route, you will visit the South Khairbari Rescue Center and Eco Park. This rescue center is famous for rehabilitation and treatment centers for tigers and leopards, which are brought here from various circuses and animal shows. You can go on a safari in this rescue center and learn about the rescue measures taken here and how the animals are treated.
We will now proceed further on this tour and visit Jaldapara National Park. This national park is famous for the one-horned rhino population. Tall elephant grass, swamps, and dense forests cover much of the national park. The rhino population in Jaldapara National Park is the highest after Kaziranga National Park. After you arrive in Jaldapara you can check into your jungle resort and later visit some nearby tribal villages. The various nature trails within the national park are best to have a stroll in the forests. You will now rest in the resort and have an overnight stay.
Today will be an exciting day of wildlife viewing in Jaldapara. Early morning we will go on a jungle safari in the thick woods and swampy grasslands of Jaldapara National Park. This is also the best time to spot birds like Crested Eagle, Bengal Florican, Lesser Pied Hornbill, Jungle Fowl, Pallas Fishing Eagle, partridges, and others. The misty environs of this national park and the tall elephant grass are ideal for viewing the one-horned rhinos.
After breakfast, you will return to your resort and explore the surroundings and relax. We will now explore the forests in the jeep safari at Jaldapara. The various animals you can spot here include sambar, elephants, wild boar, bison, and others. By evening you will return to your wildlife resort and rest here for the night.
After breakfast and check-out from Jaldapara, you will proceed to Bagdogra Airport/ New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. You can now board the train/ flight and leave West Bengal with many beautiful memories of this Gorumara & Jaldapara Wildlife Tour.
