This wildlife tour includes two of the most wildlife destinations in West Bengal, which are Neora Valley National Park and Lava. You will do bird watching and wildlife safari in these places and also visit the hill stations of Kalimpong and Darjeeling. You will spot the marvelous wildlife of the forests in the Himalayan foothills of West Bengal. You will find exciting birds of the Himalayan region here and also many animals like red pandas and others.

Day Wise Itinerary Download

1Day Arrive in Delhi

You will arrive in Delhi and our tour representative will pick you up from Delhi Airport/ Delhi Railway Station. We will get you transferred to the pre-booked hotel in Delhi. On check-in, you will spend the rest of the day in Delhi.

2Day Delhi to Bagdogra by flight + Arrive in Lava

After breakfast and check-out from Delhi, you will board the flight to West Bengal. When you arrive at Bagdogra Airport, our tour representative will greet you and we will drive to Lava. This is a small town in West Bengal with incredible natural beauty and woodlands. You can check into the forest lodge and have adequate rest. In the evening you will explore the surrounding areas and have a nature walk in the forests. You can spot some birds here with your binoculars and photograph them. Some birds which are very commonly sighted in Lava and Neora Valley are Spotted Wren Babblers, Ashy Wood Pigeon, Rusty-bellied shortwing, Satyr Tragopans, Blue-fronted Robins, and others.

3Day Lava bird walk

Today we will have a full day of bird-watching tour in Lava Forest. Lava and Neora Valley National Park are very good bird-watching destinations in West Bengal. The deep forests, rhododendron trees, gushing river streams, and dense canopy make up much of the landscape of this national park, and some areas are not yet explored. You will hear songs of birds and chirping above the trees is the testimony of the rich birdlife in Lava. You will follow the forest trails and walk along the tracks to discover birds. You will pass through evergreen forests and spot birds. After this full day of bird watching in Lava, you will return to your forest lodge and rest here for the night.

4Day Lava bird-watching tour

Today you will explore the bird-watching zones in Git Valley and Kampung Reserve forests. You will follow the forest trails and pass through ravines, valleys, and streams and discover amazing birdlife. You can make a list of all the birds you can spot here. Some of the common ones that bird watchers have seen here are the Himalayan Bulbul, Red-billed Leiothrix, Rufous-bellied Niltava, Verditer Flycatcher, Rufous-bellied Eagle, and others. Later you will return to the forest lodge and rest here for the night.

5Day Lava to Neora Valley National Park

We will start driving from Lava up to Zero Point, which is the entry to Neora Valley National Park. This national park has pine forests and bamboo groves, which are the best habitat for birds and animals in the Himalayan region. You can spot many birds here in the dense forests like laughing thrush, black eagles, satyr tragopan, warblers, flycatchers, owls, partridges, woodpeckers, barbets, and others. After a whole day of bird watching you will return to your lodge and rest here for the night.

6Day Neora Valley wildlife viewing

Today we will hit the jungle trail and spot the mammals and birds that live here in Neora Valley National Park. Some animals you can spot here are leopard cats, barking deer, black bears, red pandas, clouded leopards, flying squirrels, and others. We will have to do some trekking on the way. After a full day of wildlife viewing you will have overnight rest in the forest lodge in Neora Valley National Park.

7Day Neora Valley to Kalimpong

We will go on a bird-watching tour of Neora Valley in the morning. Then we will reach Kalimpong in the evening. You can check-in at the hotel and rest overnight.

8Day Kalimpong to Darjeeling

Today you will go on a half-day sightseeing tour of Kalimpong. We will visit Durpin Hill, Pine Viewpoint, Kali Temple, Chitra Bhanu, Jelapla View Point, and Delo Hill. Then visit Mangal Dham Temple and Kalimpong Arts and Crafts Centre, Forest Museum. Later you will check-out from Kalimpong and reach Darjeeling. You will check into your hotel in Darjeeling and rest here for the night.

9Day Darjeeling sightseeing

Today you will wake up early and see the beautiful sunrise views from Tiger Hill. The sunrise views from behind the Kanchenjunga make the best views. You will now visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. In the evening you can visit Mall Road and do some shopping at Chowrasta. Later have an overnight stay in Darjeeling.

10Day Darjeeling to Delhi via Bagdogra

Today you will check-out from Darjeeling and proceed to Bagdogra Airport. You can visit many tea gardens on the way. You will board the flight from Bagdogra Airport to Delhi. On reaching Delhi you will check into the hotel and stay here for the night.

11Day Departure from Delhi

Today you can check-out from Delhi and we will drop you off at Delhi Airport/ Delhi Railway Station.

Confirmation Policy

  • Upon booking, the traveller will receive a confirmation voucher via email, within 24 hours.
  • In the special cases of slots not being available, feasible alternatives will be provided to the customer, in regards to the customer’s preference. In such cases, a new voucher would be sent via email, consisting of the new travel details.

Cancellation Policy

  • Any cancellation made before 20 days prior to the date of departure, would levy a 30% of total tour cost as cancellation charges.
  • Due to any restrictions such as sudden government policies or regulations, health hazards, medical emergencies, or unprecedented weather conditions, activities and tours may be nonoperational and be cancelled. In cases such as these, operators will attempt to cater to the traveller an alternate, which is feasible in nature. However, any refund would not be catered.
