Your tour starts as you arrive by flight to Colombo. Our tour representative will greet you at Colombo Airport and after airport formalities drive on to Kandy. You can make a short halt at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. This is the largest home of wild elephants that are rescued and orphaned. You can view the mahouts bathe the elephants and feed the elephant calves. Later you will continue your journey to Kandy. The city of Kandy is in the central highlands of Sri Lanka and is famous for its production of high-quality tea. On arrival in Kandy, you will do all the check-in procedures at the pre-booked hotel and then rest in the hotel for some time or explore the surroundings of the hotel and its nearby areas. Later in the evening, you will have dinner at the hotel and then stay here for the night.
Today we will explore the various tourist landmarks in Kandy. We will visit the Temple of the Tooth, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Kandy. The temple is on the banks of the Kandy Lake and is a magnificent temple complex that includes the Kandy Royal Palace and other buildings. The tooth relic of Buddha is preserved here in large caskets and daily rituals and prayers are held here. There are many shrines, museums, and temples here that you can visit. Later you will visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. This fabulous garden has a huge collection of orchids and includes over 4000 plant species, medicinal plants, and herbs. After this visit, you will return to your hotel in Kandy. Later in the evening, you will enjoy a traditional Sri Lankan music and dance show.
Today you will visit Anjaneyar Temple, which is in Ramboda. This temple is that of Lord Hanuman and according to Ramayana mythology, this was the place where Lord Ram collected his forces to fight against the evil demon king Ravana. Anjaneyar Temple is one of the very important temples in Sri Lanka and comes among the top tourist attractions. You will later visit a tea factory in Kandy. After check-out from Kandy, we will proceed to another famous destination of this Sri Lanka Tour, which is Nuwara Eliya. This city is situated on the plateau and is famous for its cool climate and British colonial architecture. Nuwara Eliya is considered to be one of the finest tea-producing places in Sri Lanka. You will do hotel check-in and then proceed to visit the Seetha Amman Temple. This is a very famous temple and according to legends, it is here that Ravana held Sita captive. The temple has very beautiful architecture, carvings, and sculptures. Later we will visit Hakgala Botanical Gardens. This garden is also called Ashoka Vatika, and it was here that Ravana kept Sita and offered the garden as a pleasant place for Sita. You will find beautiful orchids and roses here. Later in the evening, you will have enough time to explore the surroundings of your hotel. You will have a delicious dinner at the hotel and then stay here for the night.
Today you will check-out from Nuwara Eliya and proceed to one of the most famous destinations of this Sri Lanka Tour, which is Bentota. The coastal town of Bentota is famous for its water sports and turtle hatchery. The coastline and beaches are fringed with swaying palm trees and the ocean waters look very fabulous and inviting in Bentota. You will arrive in Bentota and then do check-in at the hotel. Then afterward, you can explore the shops at Ambalangoda, which is a town that is famous for its puppets and wooden crafts. Artisans traditionally make masks and puppets here. The cuisine here is largely seafood and you can taste excellent seafood here.
You will have a full day with you to visit some very special attractions in Bentota town. First, we will go on a Bentota River Safari and spot many birds and marine creatures such as crocodiles, turtles, lizards, and others. You will discover the scenic views of mangrove forests and the creatures that live here. The amazing aquatic landscapes and wildlife spotting will enthrall you. Later you will visit Bentota Beach, where you can do various water sports activities like snorkeling, scuba diving, windsurfing, and jet skiing. We will then visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, where rare turtle species are protected. At the end of this tour, you will return to your hotel in Bentota and spend the night here.
Today we will check-out from Bentota and proceed to Colombo. After check-in at the hotel, you can spend some time exploring the hotel surroundings and have a rest. Later we will take you to visit Kelaniya Temple, which is a Buddhist temple. It is said that Buddha preached Buddhist principles here. This temple is also linked to Ramayana and it was here that Vibhishana, Ravana’s brother lived in his palace and was crowned as king of Lanka by Lakshmana. Later you will visit the House of Fashion Mall and do a little bit of shopping.
We will do sightseeing around Colombo and visit some of its most famous tourist attractions. We will visit the most famous Buddhist temple called Gangaramaya Temple, which has a mix of Chinese, Sri Lankan, Thai, and Indian architectural styles. We will visit the Khan Clock Tower, which is over 100 years old. Then we will visit Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall and some British buildings. Later after this visit, you can check-out from Colombo. We will drop you at Colombo Airport and you can take a flight to Mumbai.
