Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Smarak
The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Smarak is a big monument that is being built in the Arabian Sea near Mumbai. This statue is a very big project and has a library, food court, conference center besides many other attractions. There is also the building work to construct a museum, amphitheater, and viewing gallery, When the project will be completed you can visit it via boat or ferry services. You will view the building construction from a distance. The entire complex is being built on an island in the middle of the Arabian Sea near Chowpatty Beach in South Mumbai.

Raigad Fort
One of the most prominent and very famous forts in Maharashtra is the Raigad Fort. This fort is one of the strongest forts which Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj built during his lifetime. It is one of the very powerful; forts in the Deccan Plateau region of Maharashtra. The fort is built on a hill and is surrounded by a hilly region. It offers magnificent views of the valleys and the surrounding hills. Raigad Fort is built in the Sahyadri Mountain range that goes through Maharashtra. It is built at a height of 820 meters and is carved and chiseled out of solid rocks. Due to its incredible architecture and hilltop construction, this fort was fondly called Durgaraj or the King of Forts. Even the Britishers were impressed by the defenses of the fort and called it the Gibraltar of the East. You will have to trek up the hill and climb around 2000 steps to reach the top of the fort. If you want to reach the fort more quickly you can take the Raigad Ropeway to reach the fort. It will take only about 4 minutes to reach Raigad Fort through this ropeway.

Meghdambari
One of the monuments which you can visit in Raigad Fort is called Meghdambari. You can see the ruins of a palace here and some pillars and rooms. These rooms had their restrooms and you can also see the ruins of a watchtower at the place. Meghdambari was the place where Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj used to sit with his courtiers and hold important meetings. You can also make out the ruins of a market here and the views of Ganga Sagar Lake. The coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was done here at Raigad Fort and this practice is still followed to this day.

Jagdishwar Temple
One of the temples which you can visit during this Mumbai to Raigad Fort Tour by Cab is Jagdishwar Temple. The temple is just beside the Raigad Fort. A short walk will take you to this temple. Jagdishwar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. There is a small Shiv linga inside the temple and a statue of Nandi. There is a small sculpture of a tortoise on the ground. You can make out the temple architecture by viewing its construction. You will get an idea about the history of this temple from the stone inscription in the temple.

Shirkai Temple

Takmak Point
