Your Orissa Wildlife Tour will start as you arrive in Bhubaneswar. Our tour representative will be there to receive you at the airport/ railway station and transfer you to the pre-booked hotel for this tour. You will check-in at the hotel and then be ready for a half-day sightseeing tour of Bhubaneswar. We will visit the famous temples in Bhubaneswar such as Lingaraja Temple, Rajarani Temple, Mukteshwar Temple, Parshurameshwar Temple, and Megheswar Temple. Later you will return to your hotel and have dinner and then overnight rest and stay.
After you have checked out from Bhubaneswar you will go on a local sightseeing tour of Bhubaneswar. You will visit Nandankanan Zoo, which is famous for its white tigers. You can visit the botanical garden in the zoo and a part of the zoo is a wildlife sanctuary. After this, you will visit the Buddhist archaeological sites of Udayagiri and Khandgiri Caves. In the evening you will board the train/ bus to Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary. This will be an overnight journey of more than 8 hours.
When you reach Sambalpur Railway Station/ Bus stand, you will be transferred to the hotel near Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary. On check-in and some rest, you will start your wildlife safari tour of Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary. This sanctuary is near the Hirakud Dam on the river Mahanadi. You can view the spectacular natural landscapes of this sanctuary and spot some wildlife species and birds. Many migratory birds come here and they come here from Central Asia, Europe, and China. You can spot sambar deer, chital, gaur, and others. After this jungle safari tour, you will return to your jungle camp and rest here for the night.
Today will be an exciting day as you will visit some spectacular places in Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary such as Ushakothi Waterfall and Hirakud Dam. The various viewpoints near the dam offer you striking and panoramic views of the dam and the reservoir. Hirakud Reservoir is a Ramsar wetland site and Hirakud Dam is the world’s longest earthen dam. The various watchtowers near the dam also offer scenic views of the reservoir and the natural scenery of the dam. Later you will board the bus/train to Puri. You will have an overnight journey to Puri.
On your arrival at Puri railway station/ Bus stand you will check-in at the hotel and refresh yourself from the overnight journey. We will now have a whole day of sightseeing in Puri. We will visit the Konark Sun Temple and view the magnificent architecture of this temple. Konark Sun Temple is one of the most impressive sun temples in India. The temple is constructed in such a way that it represents the chariot of the sun god Surya. European sailors called this temple the Black Pagoda as it was an important landmark in the Bay of Bengal. After this visit, you will now move onwards on this sightseeing tour of Puri and visit the Jagannath Puri Temple. The temple is considered to be one of the biggest temples in India and is one of the Char Dham Yatra sites in India. You will now visit Chandrabhaga Beach. This beach is very famous as it was the first beach in India to get a Blue Flag certification for its cleanliness and environment-friendly activities and tourist amenities. Later you will return to your hotel in Puri and stay here for the night.
Today you will go on a tour of the Chilika Lake, which is one of the largest brackish water lagoons in India. You will go on a boat ride in Chilika Lake and view the birdlife and natural beauty of the lake. You will visit the many islands in the lake like Rajhans Island, and Red Crab Island. You can view the Irrawaddy Dolphins and Chilika Sea Mouth. Later you will return to your hotel in Puri and rest here for the night.
Today you will check out from Puri and proceed to visit Bhubaneswar. On the way, you can make short halts at Pipili Village and view the artisans making applique handicrafts. The villagers in this village have been making umbrellas and canopies for the Jagannath Rath Yatra for many centuries. Later you will visit the Buddhist pagoda in Dhaulagiri, known as Shanti Stupa. This Peace Pagoda is built in the same area where the famous Kalinga war took place in ancient India. After this visit, you will reach Bhubaneswar Railway Station/ Airport and board the flight to your home town. With this, your Orissa Wildlife Tour comes to an end.
