The first day of your tour starts from Bangalore. After you arrive at Kempegowda International Airport (BLR)/ Bangalore Railway Station, our tour representative will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel which was pre-booked for this particular tour. You will now check-in and rest in the hotel.
You will begin this day with a full-day Bangalore sightseeing tour by car. We will take you to the topmost tourist attractions in Bangalore on this day. You will visit Lal Bagh Gardens, which has tropical plants and trees, a topiary park, a glasshouse, a lake, and walking paths. Later you will visit Bangalore Palace, which has a Scottish and Tudor style of architecture. The elegant watchtowers, palace grounds, decorated ceilings, courtyards, and paintings are something which you should pay special attention to in this magnificent palace. You will now visit the Vidhana Soudha, this is a spectacular building that houses the State Legislature and the Secretariat. You will now check-out from Bangalore and we will take you to Mysore which is the next big destination of this grand South India Architecture Tour.
You will start after breakfast and visit Mysore Palace, which is a magnificent palace with Indian, Mughal, Gothic, and Rajput styles of architecture. It used to be the royal residence of the Wodeyar dynasty rulers. There are huge courtyards, ornamented doors, ceremonial halls, durbars, and impressive artwork on walls and ceilings inside the palace. Mysore Palace is entirely lit during the Mysore Dasara Festival. We will now take you to visit the Srirangapatnam Fort. This fort is a massive structure where you can visit dungeons, mosques, the tomb of Tipu Sultan, and temples. You will now visit Ranganthaswamy temple, which is a temple of Lord Vishnu, who is worshipped as Lord Ranganathaswamy.
You will now proceed to Hassan by car and on the way you can halt at Shravanabelagola, which is a very famous Jain pilgrimage site. The Gommateshwara Bahubali statue is the most famous attraction here and this statue is 57 feet high and ranks among the finest sculptures of Jain religion. When you arrive in Hassan you will do check-in at the hotel and then rest here for the night.
After check-out from Hassan, you will now proceed to Hospet. On the route, you can make halts at Belur/ Halebeedu. Chennakesava Temple in Belur is the finest example of Hoysala architecture and a gem of architecture. The entire temple is sculpted out of black stone and the carvings, sculptures, and architecture are beyond words to describe. Halebeedu is another famous architectural gem and the major attraction here is the Hoysaleswara Temple. This temple is a marvel of architecture and the intricate sculptures, carvings, figures, exteriors, pillars, ceilings, and inner chambers, are sculpted with exquisite precision and remarkable workmanship. Later you will proceed to Hospet and on arrival, check-in at the hotel and rest here for the night.
You will have a full day with you to explore the monuments in Hampi. After breakfast, you will visit Hampi, which is just a 30-minute drive from Hampi. Hampi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is famous for its Vijayanagara-era temples, sculptures, carvings, and architecture. Hampi was one of the powerful capitals of the mighty Vijayanagara Empire and this city is situated on the banks of the Tungabhadra River. The major monuments you will visit in Hampi are Vijaya Vittala Temple, Lotus Mahal, Virupaksha Temple, Queen's Bath, Elephant Stables, Lakshmi Narasimha Temple, Gagan Mahal, Hazara Rama Temple. The ruins here are spread over a vast area and Hampi is an architectural site, which is surrounded by huge boulders and rocks. After this visit, you will return to your hotel in Hospet and rest here for the night.
After breakfast and check-out from Hospet, you will now proceed to another famous destination of this South India Architecture Tour, which is Badami. On the route, you can take some time off to visit Lakkundi and Gadag. The temples here are best described as masterpieces of temple architecture. There are many temples that you can visit in Lakkundi, and the best of them is Nanneshwara, Mallikarjuna, Sri Kumbareshwara Temple, Shree Veerabhadreshwara Temple, Sri Kashivishveshwara Temple, and others. These temples have incredible carvings on the exterior walls with beautiful sculptures and idols.
You will also stop to admire the beautiful temples at Gadag. Trikuteshwara temple is an ancient temple here that is dedicated to Lord Shiva as Trikuteshwara. When you proceed onwards to Badami, you will check-in at the hotel and rest here for the night.
After breakfast, you will spend the entire day visiting the wonderful temples of Badami, Aihole, and Pattadakal. Badami is famous for its rock-cut temples and the most famous cave temples here are Yellamma Temple, Mallikarjuna temples, Jambulingesvara Temple, and Bhutanatha temples. Most of the temples here are found in caves and you can also find inscriptions, paintings, and murals here.
After Badami, you will visit the temples at Pattadakal, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temples here are from the 7th to 8th centuries. The most famous temples you will visit here are Virupaksha Temple, Kadasiddheshwara Temple, Mallikarjuna Temple, Papanatha Temple, and Sanghameswara Temple.
You will now visit the famous group of temples at Aihole. These temples are some of the finest examples of medieval-era temples in India. The elegant temple architecture, artistic carvings, Jain and Buddhist sculptures and idols, paintings, pillars, and gateways, are worth watching. Prominent temples here are Durga Temple, Lad Khan Temple, Meguti Temple, Ravanaphadi Cave, and other temples with incredible architectural beauty. You will now return to your hotel in Badami and stay here for the night.
You will begin this day with check-out from Badami and drive to Goa. This is a road trip of around 6 hours by road. You can check-in at your hotel in Goa and then relax at one of the beaches nearby. Later return to your hotel in the evening and rest here for the night.
You will begin this day with sightseeing in Goa. We will take you to visit the famous churches and cathedrals in South Goa. These are Portuguese-era monuments, which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Basilica of Bom Jesus is a spectacular church, where the body of St. Francis Xavier is preserved to this day after so many centuries. This basilica is a classic example of Baroque architecture. Se Cathedral is another monument of great importance. It has a Golden Bell, which is said to be the finest bell in India and the world.
We will now visit the ruins which are called the Church of St Augustine. These ruins are that of a church that the Augustine monks built in Goa when they landed in 1587. You can view one of the towers, which is the only one remaining today out of the four towers in ancient times. We will now visit the Church of Marry Immaculate Conception which is a church that was built in 1541. We will now visit some famous temples in Goa, such as Mungesh Temple and Mahalasa Narayani Temple. These two temples are situated at a walking distance from each other. You can now spend the rest of the day at a beach or your hotel, and do some shopping in a local market. You will now rest in your hotel in Goa for the night.
You will now have a full day to spend in Goa and you can indulge in adventure activities or relax at beaches and do some sightseeing. You will rest overnight at the hotel in Goa.
It is the day of departure from Goa and we will drop you at Goa Airport or Goa Railway Station.
