This South India Bird Watching Tour will start as you arrive in Bangalore. Our tour representative will pick you up from Bangalore Airport/ Bangalore Railway Station and drive you to the hotel that was pre-booked in Bangalore for this particular tour. On check-in and some rest, you will spend the remaining day at leisure and relaxing activities. Later you will have overnight rest in Bangalore.
Today you will go for a sightseeing tour of Bangalore and visit its famous monuments. We will visit Bull Temple, also known as Nandi Temple. Later we will visit Tipu Sultan Palace, Vidhan Soudha, Lal Bagh Botanical Garden, and Cubbon Park. All these places in Bangalore are very famous tourist landmarks. After this sightseeing tour of Bangalore, you will return to your hotel and rest here for the night.
Today you will check-out from Bangalore and reach Mysore. On the way, you will visit Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary and spot migratory birds and Indian birds. This Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary is one of the best bird sanctuaries in South India where you can watch terns, Siberian cranes, cormorants, kingfishers, egrets, darters, pelicans, ibis, and others. After this bird safari in Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, you will resume your journey to Mysore and check-in at the hotel. Later you will visit Mysore Palace, Brindavan Gardens and watch the musical fountains. The Mysore Palace looks even more gorgeous with the lighting. In the evening you will return to your hotel in Mysore and rest here for the night.
Today is an exciting day as you will go on a full-day sightseeing tour of Mysore. We will visit famous monuments and historical sites in Mysore such as Chamundeshwari Temple, Sri Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery, and St. Philomena's Church. Later you can go for a walking tour of Mysore and visit Mysore Park, Mysore Palace and learn about the history of Mysore through a certified tour guide. Later you will return to your hotel and rest here for the night.
Today you will check-out from Mysore and reach Bandipur National Park. This famous national park is well-known for its sandalwood forests, and wild animals. You will see big mammals like elephants, tigers, gaur, and also birds, and reptiles. Malabar Flying Squirrel, hyenas, spotted cats, wild dogs, langur monkeys, hares, and antelopes, are the other creatures found here. After you check into the hotel you can go for a jungle safari in Bandipur and photograph various animals.
Today you will go on a birding tour of Bandipur National Park. The morning time is the active time for birds and you can spot many birds in the lush green jungles. Later in the afternoon, you can go on a guided jeep safari in Bandipur National Park. You can indulge in wildlife photography and capture some beautiful images with your camera lens. Later you will stay in Bandipur.
Today you will check-out from Bandipur National Park and reach Ooty by road. On reaching Ooty you will do hotel check-in and stay overnight at leisure in Ooty.
Ooty is one of the most incredible hill stations in the entire South India. Today you will go for a sightseeing tour of Ooty and visit some popular scenic places in Ooty. We will visit the famous Ooty Lake and you can go boating here. St. Stephen’s Church is famous in Ooty for its incredible British colonial architecture. We will visit Stone House in Ooty and this was the first bungalow built in Ooty. You can now visit a tea garden and visit the local tea factory. Other places in Ooty include Botanical Garden, Deer Park, Doddabetta Peak, and Government Museum. Later after this Ooty sightseeing tour, you will have overnight rest in the hotel.
Ooty Toy Train is also called as Nilgiri Mountain Railway and this is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will have a ride on this toy train and reach Mettupalayam from Ooty. The toy train ride in Ooty is a must-have experience and you will pass through several tunnels, curves, bridges, and passes through valleys, mountains, and forests. When you arrive in Mettupalayam you will check into the hotel and then stay here for the night.
After breakfast, you will check-out from Coimbatore and visit Thattekad. This is one of the best bird habitats and is the finest of places in South India to spot amazing birds. You will find migratory birds here apart from resident Indian birds at Thattekad. On arrival in Thattekad, you will check into the hotel and then rest here for the night.
You will get up early morning to spot the incredible birdlife at Thattekad Bird Sanctuary. The natural beauty of this bird sanctuary is incredible and you will spot butterflies, frogs, reptiles, and mammals. Among the famous birds you can spot here are Malabar Grey Hornbill, Ceylon Frogmouth, Malabar Trogon Bourdillon’s Long-eared Indian Nightjar, owls, and others. Later you will spend the remaining day at Thattekad at leisure and overnight stay.
Today you will check-out from Thattekad Bird Sanctuary and reach Thekkady by car. Thekkady is famous for Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. This is a tiger reserve and one of the finest places in South India to go for elephant safari and boating in the Periyar River. On checking in at Periyar you will go on a guided spice plantation tour in Periyar. You will learn about the delicate ecosystem of Periyar National Park and the wild animals that live here. Later you will have a walking tour of Kumily market and learn about the culture and life of the tribal people who live here and make interesting handicrafts. Later you will stay overnight at Periyar and have rest.
Today you will go on a sightseeing tour of Thekkady and see the natural beauty of Thekkady with your very eyes. The nature walk of Thekkady in the morning is the best time to spot butterflies, birds, animals, and reptiles. You will be able to identify birds and rare animals in Thekkady forests. Later you will go on a boating tour on the Periyar River. Periyar National Park is home to some of the best wild animals such as Indian bison, wild elephants, tigers, leopards, wild dogs, boars, langur monkeys, Malabar Giant Squirrel, and others. You can capture the jungle scenery with your camera lens. Later you can learn about elephants and how they are bathed and fed. Overnight stay in Periyar and rest.
After you have checked out from Thekkady you will proceed to visit Alleppey. You will check-in at the luxurious houseboat in Alleppey and stay here during your time in Alleppey. Later you will go on a backwater cruise in Alleppey. You will be awestruck by the beauty of Kerala in Alleppey. The natural vistas of the backwaters with their small fishing vessels, and villages, the Chinese Fishing Boats, and the idyllic life of the backwaters are enough to lure you. As you cruise on the placid backwaters you will view some temples and huts, coconut palms swaying in the breeze, and the paddy fields. The amazing thing about these houseboats is that they can navigate through narrow water channels and creeks. They have attached bathrooms and all meals are served in the houseboat itself. You will spend the rest of the day in the houseboat.
Check-out from the houseboat after breakfast and then reach Kumarakom by road. You can check into the hotel on arrival in Kumarakom and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
After breakfast, you will go on a guided tour of Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. You can spot various birds here in the backwaters of Vembanad Lake. Many migratory birds are found here during wintertime. You can spot kingfishers, larks, flycatchers, waterfowl, cranes, and others. Later you will have an overnight stay in Kumarakom.
Today you will check-out from Kumarakom and proceed to visit Cochin. You can check into the hotel in Cochin on arrival. Later we will visit Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary, which is home to Eurasian Otter, Flying Fox, and Three-striped squirrel. Wildlife lovers will love the natural beauty and vistas of this place. The wetland landscapes, the mangrove forests, the placid waters, and the evergreen landscapes are worthy to be photographed. Later you will have an overnight stay in Cochin.
Today you will go on a sightseeing tour of the city of Cochin. We will visit some historic monuments and buildings in Cochin like Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Fort Kochi, St Francis Church, and Chinese Fishing Nets. You can take a relaxing evening walk on the beach and watch amazing sunsets. You can visit the Ernakulam Shiva Temple, Santa Cruz Basilica. In the evening you can enjoy a traditional dance performance of Kathakali and the dramatic martial art technique called as Kalaripayattu. Now overnight in the hotel of Cochin with dinner.
Today is the last day of this South India Bird Watching Tour. You will check-out from Cochin and we will drop you at Cochin Airport/ Cochin Railway Station and you can resume your return journey.
